SMS Terms & Consent
Effective July 13, 2026
1. Program description
Law firms using the Lawstaff.ai platform send conversational, service-related text messages from their firm's dedicated business phone number. Message types include: returning a call you placed to the firm, confirming or rescheduling consultations and appointments, following up on your inquiry to the firm, requests for documents you have agreed to provide, courtesy reminders about your own account or invoice with the firm, and replies to messages you send. These are one-to-one service messages between you and the law firm you contacted — never marketing lists, promotions, or messages to people who have not contacted the firm.
2. How you opt in
You provide consent in one of these ways: (a) verbally, during a phone call with the firm's reception line, when you provide your phone number and agree that the firm may call or text you at it; (b) through the firm's website chat, where you provide your phone number and expressly agree that the firm may contact you; or (c) by sending a text message to the firm's number first, which constitutes consent to receive replies.
Consent is recorded at the time it is given (call transcripts, chat records) and is specific to the firm you contacted.
3. Message frequency, rates
Message frequency varies based on your interaction with the firm — typically a small number of messages related to your specific inquiry, appointment, or account. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.
4. Opting out and help
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time; you will receive a single confirmation and no further texts. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact the firm directly by phone, or email support@lawstaff.ai regarding the platform.
5. Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except as required to deliver the messages (SMS service providers) or as required by law. All other categories of data handling are described in our Privacy Policy.
